Who was Tutankhamen?
He was born in 1341 BC and was given the name Tutankhamen, meaning "the living image of Aten". He was the 12th king of the 18th Egyptian dynasty and was only 8 or 9 years of age when he started ruling Egypt. Because we was ruler at such a young age most of the decision making was probably done by his two senior officials and army commanders. King Tutankhamen was only Pharaoh for about 10 years before dying at the age of about 18 or 19 years. CAT scan where carried out on Tutankhamen's body in 2005 showed that he was about 5.8 feet tall and had a little build. Although he and his wife had no children but in his tomb where two mummified stillborn baby girls.
Why was Tutankhamen important in Ancient Egypt?
King Tutankhamen wasn't very important while he was ruler in Ancient Egypt, although today he his one of the most famous and most talked about pharaoh's since his discovery in 1922.
What did Ancient Egyptians think of Tutankhamen?
Even though Tutankhamen was only 9 years of age when he took the reign of king he would have been respected as an adult or leader. He wouldn't have made any massive decisions because his two senior officials did that job for him but he might have been overwhelmed with the whole 'being supreme ruler at the age of nine thing' or might have taken it with joy.
